John Du Pont and the Lavish Life he Lived

If you are under 25 years old, you might not know the name John du Pont first hand, but you have probably heard of his family or the movie based off of part of his life, “Foxcatcher”. Du Pont’s family is one of the longest running wealthy families in United States history, and is currently worth an estimated $15 billion spread across a few thousand living relatives that have never met.

Out of the family members, John du Pont was the most notable as he was the heir to the fortune. du Pont started an amateur wrestling facility at the Foxcatcher Farm in the 1980’s that churned out some of the country’s best wrestlers. One of his biggest stars was Dave Schultz, who won a gold medal at the Olympics. Several wrestlers, including Schultz, were paranoid of du Pont’s sporadic ways, but he wasn’t busted for any crimes until he murdered Schultz in 1996.

In 1997, du Pont was sentenced to up to 30 years in prison, and he passed away after his minimum sentence of 13 years in December 2010, becoming the only person on the list of the 400 richest Americans ever to serve time in jail for murder. du Pont was incredibly wealthy by the time he went to jail, having an estimated net worth of $200 million.

du Pont was truly a strange and eccentric man, spending his money lavishly. USA Wrestling is the governing body of amateur wrestling in America, and du Pont gave them $3 million in what is considered a non-profit sport. At the Foxcatcher Farm, du Pont was even said to roam around in his tank to make sure there were no trespassers after heiress Patty Hearst was kidnapped.

A somewhat failed athlete himself, du Pont wanted to be a swimmer so badly that he built himself a 50 meter long pool, but could never make the cut into the Olympic team. du Pont also spent a lot of money on his stamp collection, spending $935,000 on the British Guiana 1856 1c black on magenta stamp, one of the rarest in the world. When he died in 2010, du Pont’s precious stamp sold for more than 10 times what he paid for it.

Stamps weren’t the only expensive collectors items that du Pont wanted in his home. He also spent millions hundreds of thousands (and sometimes millions) on rare silverware, tin toys and even bought himself a fleet of horse carriages. Even while spending money on himself, du Pont would also reward his wrestlers with huge checks if they were to win big matches…and even to search the attic for ghosts.

Some thought that because of his collections and obsession with amateur wrestling that he was eclectic, while others saw this as his descent into madness that culminated in shooting Dave Schultz in the driveway of his estate three times. The signs were there, as du Pont had claimed that horses on the estate were sending him messages directly from Mars and that drugs only made it worse.

After his guilty conviction, du Pont still displayed his madness, having those that took care of his estate to change the sign to say “Foxcatcher Prison Sign”. He also ordered them to paint every building pitch black and became an eyesore to the neighborhood before it was sold for nearly $30 million before his death and was torn down in favor of high end suburban houses.

When he died in prison, du Pont was still filthy rich despite reportedly having to pay Schultz’s family a minimum of $35 million, and it was estimated that his net worth when he passed away was still $125 million. There was also an interesting part of his will that said that Bulgarian wrestler Valentin Yordanov would receive 80 percent of his estate, instantly making him one of the richest athletes ever without ever competing professionally.

What caused du Pont to act so erratically over the years is still somewhat of a mystery. Some blame the drugs, some blame mental illness, some blame his ego and others blame his high pressure upbringing in one of the world’s wealthiest families. Whatever it was, it was tragic to see how it all unfolded, especially since it cost the life of someone who didn’t deserve to have it taken from them.

Michael Jackson’s Expensive Plastic Surgeries

There are a few names in music that were able to reach legendary status and are still talked about and admired after their deaths, and Michael Jackson is one of them. Jackson grew up with his brothers as part of the Jackson 5 before going solo and becoming one of the most successful singers with more than 400 million records sold around the globe.

Perhaps just as interesting as Jackson’s music career was his personal life. Between allegations of sexual abuse, interesting cavalcade of friends and his ever changing appearance, people couldn’t stop talking about Jackson throughout his life and death. Going back to his appearance, no celebrity changed more dramatically than Michael Jackson.

It’s estimated by some experts that Jackson had more than one hundred plastic surgery procedures during his life. It all started when Jackson wanted to change his nose, and actually asked his sister Latoya to get the operation done to see how it would look. What came afterward was what some friends said was a complete transformation because he did not want to look like his father. Instead, they said that he wanted to look like his friend Diana Ross.

Jackson was said to have suffered from body dysmorphic disorder, meaning that he was never happy with his appearance no matter how much surgery he underwent. Jackson’s skin went from a very dark complexion to completely pale throughout the years, with one friend saying that “he does not like being black and he feels that blacks are not liked as much as people of other races.” These skin procedures can cost up to $10,000 per session, and there’s no telling how many of them Jackson went through.

While it could never be proven one way or the other, there were plenty of surgeries that were clear to the public, even if Jackson didn’t admit to them. Jackson quite obviously had a rhinoplasty, a cleft placed in his chin, cheekbone lifts and reconstruction, lip augmentation and a forehead lift (all at the very least).

Rhinoplasty costs can reach up to $5,000, receiving a cleft can cost $3,000 to $5,000, cheekbone surgery is at least $3,000 per session, lip augmentations are nearly $5,000 and forehead lifts can cost $3,200. That is nearly $20,000 for each of these surgeries, and there were times when it appeared that Jackson underwent the same types of surgeries on multiple occasions.

It has been said by sources and experts that were close to Jackson that he underwent a half dozen nose surgeries as his nose continued to get smaller and smaller. It got to the point where in 2002, Jackson had to wear tape on his nose after a graft or implant broke through the skin and that his nose was beyond repair at that point.

A lot of celebrities have been rumored to pay nearly six figures for plastic surgery, but all of them pale in comparison to the estimated amount that Jackson was rumored to spend. Since he was never happy with his appearance and paid high priced doctors to go under the knife, the estimates of Jackson’s surgery spending reached into the millions. An exact number would be almost impossible to calculate, but it appears to be in the $1 million to $3 million range.

It was tragic that Jackson was never happy with his appearance, and it has left a lot of people wondering just what he would have looked like if he had never gone through the surgeries, and if having that many procedures could have possibly led to his death. Unfortunately, we will never get an answer to those questions.

Kylie Jenner’s Expensive Plastic Surgeries

In terms of the most famous teenagers in the world, Kylie Jenner has to be on the top of the list. Jenner is of course a member of the famous Jenner and Kardashian family that has been featured on the reality television series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”. When the series started, Jenner was only 10 years old, but just turned 18 in August 2015.

Since a lot of people saw her grow up on camera, they got to see the drastic changes that she went through. However, it seems like she didn’t end up looking like many people thought she would, leading to a lot of rumors about plastic surgery. Jenner certainly does look much different than she did just a couple of years ago, but has she had work done?

According to Jenner, she says that the only time she has been put under was when she was in a dentist’s office, and that the only plastic surgery that she has gotten is a lip filling procedure that can cost between $2,000 and $5,000. Jenner said that “I’m not against plastic surgery…But as of now, I only have lip fillers. Like I’ve said before, it has always been a huge insecurity of mine and I wanted to make a change.

Some experts and fans have said that there have been plenty of other surgeries that she hasn’t disclosed, especially in her body. Jenner protested by saying “I haven’t gotten breast implants! Everyone is obsessed with that. Truth is, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gained 15 pounds and my body has changed; I’ve definitely filled out.” Jenner also said that it’s body contouring with makeup that has given her a fuller appearance.

Doctors have said, however, that Jenner has had at least a half dozen plastic surgeries over the past couple of years, even going into detail. These experts have said that Jenner has undergone a breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, an eyebrow lift, a nose job, a chin implant and even jaw reshaping. It’s a lot of pressure, as one doctor said that “she’s having to compete with older sisters who’ve already made their fame and fortune from being seen as gorgeous and sexy.”

If true, how much would all of those surgeries cost Jenner? A typical breast augmentation surgery costs around $4,000 in the United States, eyelid surgery runs around $2,100, an eyebrow lift is usually $3,200, nose jobs can cost between $4,000 and $5,000, chin implants are about $5,000 and jaw reshaping can cost up to $10,000. All of these surgeries combine to cost the average person around $30,000, with the Kardashian family probably ponying up more for top surgeons, so it could be in the neighborhood of $50,000.

That’s an insanely high amount for someone to spend on plastic surgery, especially for someone that is just 18 years old. While sister Kim has spent more reportedly, she has more than a decade head start and a much higher net worth. Jenner is estimated to be worth between $2 million and $5 million, and if the low end estimate is right, then plastic surgery made a fair sized dent into her bank account.

If Jenner had a little help from the family, she should be just fine, though. After all, the estimated net worth of the Jenner and Kardashian clan is estimated to be in the neighborhood of $300 million, so they can continue to get all of the plastic surgery that they want for a very, very long time.

Kim Kardashian’s Expensive Plastic Surgeries

Whether you love her or hate her, you can’t deny that Kim Kardashian is one of the biggest celebrities in the world. After getting a lot of attention for an adult video that leaked on the internet with rapper Ray J, Kardashian was able to ink her own reality television show that has been on the air since 2007 and is still one of the most watched shows on cable.

Kardashian’s net worth is now estimated to be near the $100 million mark, and being in front of a camera has been a documentary of her changes in wealth and appearance. People are always watching and talking about her, and there is no doubt that Kardashian looks quite a bit different than she did a decade ago.

Kardashian has seen a lot of weight and body fluctuations and facial changes, but just how much work has she had done in terms of plastic surgery and how much has it cost her over the years? One of the most notable changes that Kardashian has had has been her famous posterior. While she has shown an x-ray to prove that her famous rear is real, doctors say that she has had fat removed from her legs and injected into her buttocks. That type of surgery is estimated to cost around $5,000.

There are a few other surgeries that Kardashian herself has admitted to, including hairline laser surgery, a couple of botox injections and massages that are designed to get rid of fat. Getting your hairline straightened out typically costs between $600 and $900 per session, which is a drop in the bucket for Kardashian. As for botox injections, it’s hard to tell how many she has had, but those cost only about $20 per injection. Finally, the massages cost around $600 per session.

Kardashian also documented a surgery where she underwent stretch mark removal on her breasts on her reality show. These types of treatments cost around $200 per session, although it was likely that she ponied up a higher cost to make sure that she was getting the absolute best treatment by top surgeons.

What other surgeries have experts claimed that Kardashian has had in the past? The list is a long one, and they include a rhinoplasty, skin tightening treatments, lip augmentation, filler injections in her cheeks and even a breast lift. Let’s break down the price for each of these treatments.

First, the average cost of a rhinoplasty is just under the $5,000 mark in the United States, and it’s safe to assume that Kardashian paid much more than that if she did indeed get the surgery done. A laser skin tightening treatment is around $1,000 per session, lip augmentation can cost up to $2,000, cheek injections cost between $1,000 and $3,000 while a breast lift can cost around $4,500.

Some doctors also estimate that Kardashian has had at least two liposuctions around her stomach, especially after having two children, and these cost around $3,500 per treatment. On the very low end, all of these surgeries add up to nearly $16,000! That’s just for the bare minimum, which it’s almost guaranteed that she hasn’t had, and some have suggested that Kardashian has spent upwards of $80,000 on surgeries.

While it’s not a huge mark in terms of her overall net worth, it is worth noting that $80,000 is more than three times the median salary for a person in the United States and about how much someone with a Doctorates earns in one year. Could you imagine spending three years worth of salaries on plastic surgeries?

Psy Net Worth

His birth name is Park Jae-sang, but you might know him better as international superstar, Psy. Psy grew up in South Korea to an affluent family and was actually going to go into his father’s business before he moved to the United States and became more interested in music. Psy was discovered because of his dancing abilities, and a South Korean producer put him on television in 2000.

Just a year later, Psy made his first album, which wasn’t a success since the Korean government fined him for “inappropriate lyrics.” Psy would release one more album before joining the military. After his time with the military was done, Psy signed with a record label as he could no longer release his own, and then he finally hit his stride.

Psy’s life (and bank account) changed in a big way in 2012, when in July of that year he released his new album (“Psy 6, Part 1”) and the single “Gangnam Style”. The video for the song made Psy an overnight success across the world, and it became the most watched video on YouTube in the website’s history.

In terms of money, Psy wasn’t particularly struggling before the success of “Gangnam Style”, but he is now worth $45 million because of it. In YouTube advertisements alone, Psy took home a $2 million cut from the streamer. That was just a small sampling of how much the video would make for Psy, as he made millions more when the song (and his image) were used by massive corporations like Samsung and Ford.

Psy also received nearly $3 million from the downloads through Apple’s iTunes service, and even close to $100,000 for streaming revenues on apps such as Pandora and Slacker. Still, the $5 million in endorsements is the biggest chunk that he made from the song.

There is also the matter of appearances, and although his stock isn’t as high as it was in 2012 or 2013, Psy was able to charge $300,000 per show at the height of his fame. It’s not as if Psy has completely gone away, either. He is still a massive star in his native South Korea, and has had a couple of hits in the United States.

In 2013, Psy reached number five on the U.S. charts with “Gentleman”, and then number 26 in 2014 with “Hangover” in a collaboration with Snoop Dogg of all people. These songs were even bigger in Korea, where two reached number one and another (named “Napal Baji”) reached number two.

So all in all that song made Psy about $8 to 10 million in estimates, so where is all of that other money coming from? The concerts have netted another couple of million, while he has also become the tourism ambassador for his native country. Multiple other speaking appearances have brought in extra cash, but the biggest boost in his net worth has been from his family’s company.

In terms of assets, Psy has some pretty expensive items in his collection that include a swanky condo in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, valued at nearly $1.5 million. The fourth floor condo has a balcony and access to a pool, gym and tennis court whenever he wants it. Psy also has a specially made Hyundai Equus that includes bulletproof windows. It’s a one of a kind car that the manufacturer made for their hometown celebrity. Psy is also the owner of 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP-560 and a Rolls Royce (that he unfortunately crashed into a bus and left in a Porsche).

Psy’s net worth takes into account his future stake in his father’s company, DI Corporation. The success of “Gangnam Style” and his follow up hits were actually enough to double the stock in the company, which Park Won-Ho, his father, is the executive chairman of. 2016 looks to be a big year for Psy as well, as he just released his seventh album in December 2015 titles “Chiljip PSY-da”.

Even if the music industry decides to turn its back on Psy and he never has another hit song, he would still probably be worth well over $10 million as long as he decides to stay in his father’s business. After all, the company is worth nearly $400 million. In terms of fallback plans, it could definitely be a lot worse.

Nicki Minaj Net Worth

There was a time when celebrities were being discovered on MySpace, but that was a very short window as now it’s Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram. Luckily for Nicki Minaj, she was able to be discovered in the time of MySpace, back when she was still Onika Maraj, a Trinidad and Tobago born singer that signed with a group called Full Force in 2007.

After leaving the group and gaining some traction on the internet, Minaj was signed to Dirty Money Entertainment on a six month deal where she adopted her new name. Over the next two years, Minaj would release a couple of mixtapes that were popular on the underground scene, but that can only make you so much money.

Minaj’s net worth was next to nothing less than a decade ago, and now she is worth a whopping $70 million thanks to her rise into stardom. It was in 2009 that Minaj got her big break when she was signed by Lil’ Wayne to his newly formed Young Money Entertainment label and was featured on multiple hit singles, netting herself $50,000 for each song she was in the background of.

In 2010, Minaj released her first full studio album, and by the end of the year she became the first female to have seven songs that were on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time. The hit album had more than two million sales around the world, and it brought in a profit of nearly $2 million for Minaj. Minaj really cashed in on the album when she went on the “Pink Friday Tour” in 2012 with 43 shows.

The tour was such a success that 18 new shows were added on at the end of 2012 in the “Pink Friday: Reloaded Tour”. Each performance for Minaj paid her $150,000 per night and a special edition called “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” brought in another $900,000 for Minaj in sales. Minaj then released her third album (and second full one), “The Pinkprint” in 2014 and “The Pinkprint Tour” to go along with.

Three albums and three tours have all pulled in millions, but Minaj is making the bulk of her money from other business ventures. In 2012, Minaj was selected to be one of the judges on the hit reality singing competition “American Idol”. The one year that she was there got her a check for $12 million.

In terms of endorsement deals, Minaj got her first big one in 2010 with MAC Cosmetics when she released a new lipstick every Friday for an entire month. The next year, Minaj was the spokesperson for the Casio TRYX digital camera, as well as a nail polish collection and even a Barbie doll that portrayed a Minaj-like character.

2012 saw even more endorsements with Nokia (launching their Lumia 900 phone), a clothing line with Adidas and multiple advertisements with enormous sponsor Pepsi. Minaj has multiple fragrance lines in her name that include Pink Friday, Minajesty and Onika. Minaj is partnered up with Myx Fusions, and is the spokesperson as well as a co-owner, and the company makes a moscato drink.

There are even more companies that Minaj has been endorsed by or has a part ownership in, but there are simply too many to list. The biggest one that she has been involved in recently is Tidal, a streaming service that was started by Jay-Z, and Minaj has a three percent stake in the company.

Minaj has appeared on the highest earners list in music ever since her emergence in 2010. By 2012, she was eighth in the list for Hip Hop artists, pulling in $29 million, and then $15 million the next year. Don’t expect Minaj to go away anytime soon, as she is still pulling in massive endorsements and her latest album was nominated for several 2016 Grammy Awards that include Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

So far, there isn’t an album in the works that would be released in 2016, but with multiple appearances on stage likely that cost $150,000 each, she’s bound to pad her net worth in the coming year. Minaj has also branched out into acting, with appearances in “Ice Age: Continental Drift”, “The Other Woman” and the upcoming “Barbershop 3”. Whether you love her or hate her, she’s here to stay on the richest list for quite some time.

Macaulay Culkin Net Worth

Who could ever forget the early 1990’s in cinema. One child actor emerged as one of the most popular of all-time, and that was Macaulay Culkin. Culkin got his start on stage and then appeared on television productions such as “The Equalizer” and “The Midnight Hour”. Culkin’s big break came when he landed a role in “Uncle Buck” with John Candy, opening the door for his biggest role.

Culkin was cast as the lead in 1990’s “Home Alone”, which was the biggest film of the year and it instantly made Culkin one of the most recognized actors in the world. After several movies throughout the 1990’s, Culkin seemed to vanish off the face of the Earth, so how much could he still be worth with such a small movie resume? Believe it or not, Culkin still has a net worth estimated at a whopping $15 million these days.

So how could someone who has not had a starring role since they were 14 years old be worth so much? Wait until you see the salaries that Culkin received as a child star. Culkin got his first big check from “Uncle Buck”, which paid him $40,000. Afterward, he got a big increase for “Home Alone” at $100,000.

From there, the salaries skyrocketed, as 1991’s “My Girl” paid Culkin $1 million. After the success of the first “Home Alone” movie, Culkin was able to negotiate a huge increase for the sequel, “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” to the tune of $4.5 million. Culkin was still a hot commodity at this time and he received $5 million from 1993’s “The Good Son” and $8 million each for “Getting Even With Dad” and “Richie Rich” both in 1994.

In case you didn’t want to do the math, the total salary for those movies accounts for more than $23 million. Culkin left acting afterward, and has only made sporadic appearances in film since then in movies that include “Saved!”, “Sex and Breakfast” and the upcoming “Zoolander No. 2”. None of these have been really high paying roles, but Culkin seems happy with staying out of the spotlight.

These days, Culkin has been working on his band called The Pizza Underground that got their marketing start from a viral video. Culkin’s band started a tour in New York City in January of 2014, but it didn’t turn out well as he was in the middle of a kazoo (yes, a kazoo) solo in May of 2014 when people started to boo and throw beer at him on stage. Culkin’s band cancelled all of their shows in the United Kingdom afterward, but are still together.

Culkin may have lost some money over the years thanks to taxes and not having a lot of income, but he is still rich, especially compared to the average person, and lives in a pretty swanky apartment. Culkin paid $2 million for his pad in New York City, which he has since turned into a massive art studio in the SoHo area.

While it’s a pricy apartment, you wouldn’t know it by looking at it since it’s covered in empty bottles, piles of cigarettes and other general litter, but that’s the life of an artist, apparently. Culkin is a long way away from his days as a child actor, but he still seems to be enjoying himself, just not in the conventional way that you might want to live your life.

Will we ever see a return to the big screen for Culkin? It doesn’t seem like he has any interest in coming back, even if the price is right, but if there is ever another “Home Alone” sequel (despite their being an unsuccessful third movie), it might be worth having Culkin star to reprise his role. Oh, and we was also dating Mila Kunis for nearly a decade, so he has been living the life for a long time.

Adam Levine Net Worth

Singer Adam Levine got his start back in the mid 1990’s when he became the frontman for a band named Kara’s Flowers. The band released just one album, “The Fourth World” which didn’t register on the charts, and the band broke up. Four years later, Levine reunited with the band and had a revamped lineup, starting Maroon 5.

Maroon 5 had their first album released in 2002, which went multi-platinum and the band was on their way. Despite taking at least two years between album releases, Maroon 5 has been one of the biggest bands in pop music for more than a decade, and they are still going strong. Levine has especially found success as a solo act and personality, and it’s estimated that these days he has a net worth of $60 million.

Just a couple of years ago, Levine’s net worth was estimated to be around $20 million, but 2014 and 2015 have been massive years for the singer. In combined album sales, Levine (while with his band) has generated more than 20 million copies sold, which has netted an estimated $3.3 million for Levine and his band.

When you aren’t a solo artist, album sales don’t mean all that much, especially over a long period of time, but Levine has had plenty of other money coming in. Levine has participated in four different tours with Maroon 5, including two different Honda Civic Tours, The Overexposed Tour and their current one, The Maroon V Tour, that runs until October 2016.

While those tours have pulled in big bucks, they still aren’t Levine’s biggest source of revenue like most singers. Levine is currently one of the four judges on the massively popular NBC singing competition, “The Voice”. NBC pays Levine a whopping $6 million per year to be one of the four judges on the show, and he has been there since the first season.

Levine has also opened his own record label called 222 Records, and has been very smart with his money, with sources saying that he is now pulling in $35 million per year. Levine also has a tie with Kmart and to create a menswear collection, and he even has his own fragrance line that is sold at Macy’s stores in microphone shaped bottles. Levine did get a bit of controversy from the line, though, because a year earlier he had said that there should be “an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward.” Everyone has a price, though.

Those aren’t the only business ventures for Levine, as he has created a guitar for sale that can be purchased in Target stores. He is also one of the acting spokesmen for Proactiv, an acne prevention skincare product. Levine has actually been asked if he thinks that he ‘sold out’ by becoming a brand. Levine responded by saying “I think that there was this generation before us that was so hellbent on not selling out that it went too far, and I feel like maybe it’s history correcting itself because it’s more acceptable now to do a lot of the things that musicians would have been terrified to do 10 years ago.”

Despite being worth more than $60 million these days and pulling in a massive salary that will make him even richer in the coming years, Levine is actually still tied for the lowest net worth for “The Voice” judges with Blake Shelton. That’s because Gwen Stefani ($100 million), Pharrell Williams ($105 Million) and Christina Aguilera ($130 million) are all worth more. Still, $60 million is a nice consolation prize.

Levine is still signed on for multiple seasons of the voice, and the first half of the new competition will be in the spring of 2016 while the fall of 2016 features some big names in the judges’ chairs that include Taylor Swift and Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons. As long as the ratings keep coming in, then there is going to be higher and higher salary earnings for Levine.

Within a couple of years, Levine should be able to join the elite $100 million and up club as his empire continues to grow. However, Levine is probably just happy with the fact that one of his contestants just won the singing competition for the third time since its inception.

Jacob Rothschild Biography

When it comes to big money, there is perhaps no name known more around the world than the Rothschild name. What started with Mayer Amschel Rothschild in the 1700’s had become the richest family in the world, believed to be worth more than $500 trillion in today’s value. One of the more prominent members of the family in today’s era is Jacob Rothschild, who is believed to be worth more than $4 billion these days.

Jacob Rothschild was born in 1936 as the oldest child of Victor Rothschild and Barbara Judith Rothschild. Rothschild received a private education and received a degree in history. When he was 25 years old, Rothschild married Serena Mary Dunn, who is the granddaughter of Sir James Dunn, a banker from Canada.

While he was growing up, Rothschild said that he experienced some anti-semitism from his famous name, but didn’t let it get to him. Rothschild also met Hugh Trevor-Roper, who was his tutor, and they became good friends. Rothschild then turned his attention to the family business after graduation and marriage when he started work in 1963 at the N.M. Rothschild & Sons bank in London, and had been there for 17 years.

Rothschild and his wife Serena have had four children that were all born around this time: Hannah Mary (born in 1962), Beth Matilda (born in 1964), Emmy Magda (born 1967) and Nathaniel Philip Victor James (born 1971).

Eventually Rothschild left the business after a dispute and founded his own group named the J. Rothschild Assurance Group, which is now known as the St. James’s Place plc. Rothschild said that “I didn’t have an easy relationship with my father or my cousins at the time so I went out on my own, and did reasonably well.”

Along the way, Rothschild has accumulated more business ventures by becoming the Chairman of RIT Capital Partners plc, which is a titan on the London Stock Exchange in the investment market.

One of the company’s subsidiaries, J Rothschild Capital Management, is still being overseen by Jacob as he acts as the Chairman. Rothschild saw the potential for growth in India in 2006, founding Xander Real Estate in the country and serving as an Advisory Board Member. Other job titles for Rothschild include Council Member for the Duchy of Cornwall, and a Board Member for The Blackstone Group.

The first decade of the new millennium saw Rothschild come under a little bit of criticism as in 2003 he had the shares of Mikhail Khodorkovsky from YUKOS, a Russian oil company, passed into his name just before Khodorkovsky was arrested. You don’t become a billionaire without a little bit of diversity in your portfolio, and Rothschild has plenty of it with real estate, energy and much more.

Being a billionaire businessman also means that you have some pretty powerful friends. Rothschild was a close friend to Princess Diana while she was a member of the royal family, and some of his previous clients include Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and Margaret Thatcher. Rothschild also set up an Economic Round Table that included Warren Buffett and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Officially, Rothschild’s full name is The Right Honorable Nathaniel Charles Jacob Rothschild, 4th Baron Rothschild, Bt, OM, GBE, GBA, commonly known as Lord Rothschild or Baron Rothschild, of Tring in the County of Hertford (say that five times fast). Rothschild has earned all of these honors with his family connections, and has received awards that range from Personality of the Year to Member of the Order of Merit, and there are only 24 members in the world.

While some might think that Rothschild is sitting on all of the money he has gathered through the years, he is actually quite active in the philanthropy side of things. Rothschild has served on the board for the National Gallery, the National Heritage Memorial Fund, the British National Heritage Lottery Fund and many more.

Just last year, Rothschild was honored with the J. Paul Getty Medal, which is given for his achievement in philanthropy, especially in the field of museology and art. Rothschild told the media that “Philanthropy has a lot to do with our family’s values” and that “Beginning particularly with the 19th century, members of my family were brought up, once they’d made money, to give a lot of it back.” With more than $4 billion in net worth, there is plenty of it to give back.

Robin Thicke Net Worth

Growing up with famous parents can bring a lot of pressure, something that Robin Thicke had to deal with. Thicke’s mother is Gloria Loring, an actress and singer that was known for starring on “Days of Our Lives”, while his father Alan Thicke was a long-time sitcom star known most for “Growing Pains”.

Instead of following the acting path of his parents, Thicke decided that he wanted to get into music and formed a group (As One) that got their demo tape to singer Brian McKnight. McKnight invited Thicke to his recording studio when he was just 16 years old and landed his first contract with Interscope Records.

Now, Robin Thicke is making hit records, and his estimated net worth is valued at $15 million. Even though Thicke wanted to be a singer, he had to take his licks as a songwriter for others before becoming a big star. Thicke wrote for late 1990’s and early 2000’s stars such as Brandy, Jordan Knight, Christina Aguilera and many more over the years.

You probably don’t remember this, but Thicke’s first hit song came in 2002 with “When I Get You Alone” from his debut album “A Beautiful World”. The album only reached number 152 on the United States charts, and Thicke only made $70,000 from the album as it sold just 63,000 copies in America.

Thicke continued to make a living as a songwriter for the next few years, and in 2006 he finally got a bigger break when he released “The Evolution of Robin Thicke” which had singles such as “Wanna Love U Girl”, “Shooter” and “Lost Without U”. Thicke also went on tour that year with India.Arie and then John Legend (as an opening act), and he collected $1.5 million from those two.

Thicke would continue to have modest success over the course of the next few years as he released “Something Else” in 2008 and then “Sex Therapy: The Session” in 2009. He also went on tour as the opening act for Beyonce during her “The Beyonce Experience” tour, “The Love Soul Tour” with Mary J. Blige and then headlined another tour with Jennifer Hudson.

While Thicke was a millionaire, he still hadn’t launched into the higher tax bracket at that point like he is now. That all changed in 2013 when he released the album “Blurred Lines”, and the single from the album with the same name was the biggest pop single of the year, and one of the highest selling of all time with 14.8 million people buying it. The album itself was also certified gold, and Thicke made nearly $8 million that year from record sales alone.

Now that he was a bigger name and could draw people in as a headliner, Thicke went on tour in early 2014 with the “Blurred Lines Tour”. It’s estimated that the tour itself brought in more than $3 million in take home profit for Thicke, and he was able to purchase a mansion in California that was listed at $3 million.

Thicke was seemingly on top of the world, but early 2015 would not be a good year for Thicke as he was engaged in a legal battle with the estate of Marvin Gaye that claimed he had stolen his hit song from Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up”. A trial began in February, and by March a jury ordered that Thicke and co-author Pharrell Williams had to fork over $7.4 million in damages due to copyright infringement.

The duo is still locked in a battle as they try to appeal the decision, but it doesn’t look good for them. While the lawsuit was still being drawn out in 2014, Thicke released another album, “Paula”. The album reached number nine on the charts and number two on the R&B charts, but sold just less than 50,000 copies.

Despite the setbacks, Thicke still has a pile of cash to sit on with his $15 million, but he hasn’t been able to replicate the success of “Blurred Lines” in 2013. His last two songs have not reached the U.S. charts, but he has shown how easy it can be to come out of nowhere with one of the biggest songs of all-time.
